Silencers
Suppressors, also known as “silencers,” are a device that is mounted to a gun to reduce the acoustic intensity and recoil from a gunshot. Though these devices are often associated with criminals in action films, silencers are actually an essential tool designed to increase the safety of sport shooters.
Repeated exposure to gunshots can cause noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL). silencers effectively reduce the decibel level of a gunshot from 165 to 135, mitigating the risk of eardrum trauma. They can also increase accuracy and aim, as they reduce recoil.

Short-Barreled Shotgun (SBS) & Short Barreled Rifle (SBR)
According to the ATF, short-barreled rifles (SBR) are rifles with barrels that are less than 16 inches in length, and short-barreled shotguns (SBS) are shotguns with a barrel that is less than 18 inches in length. Under Connecticut law, short-barrelled shotguns and short-barreled rifles are legal to own for recreational use with a certified NFA tax stamp, necessary paperwork, and approval to transfer.
